Please Suck My Blood
The Dark Loves of Christopher Lee
12.09 - 13.09.2015 MOTELx
MOTELx – Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, in collaboration with the White Noise collective, is organizing a tribute to the great horror film icon CHRISTOPHER LEE, who passed away last June at the age of 93. Lee, immortalized by his portrayal of Dracula in the Hammer films, was part of the same strain of classic horror faces such as Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff or Bela Lugosi. To this end, we invited the journalist and "Cahiers du Cinéma" critic, STÉPHANE DU MESNILDOT, author of several books on cinema of genre such as «Jess Franco. Énergies du fantasme», «Fantômes du cinéma japonais. Les métamorphoses de Sadako» and most recently «Le Miroir obscur. Une histoire du cinéma des vampires», all published by Rouge Profond, to choose and introduce one of his favourite films of the actor, «Eugenie» (Jess Franco, 1969), and present a lecture that has the suggestive title "Please suck my blood: The dark loves of Christopher Lee». In addition to this session, Stéphane du Mesnildot also selected the short film by Bertrand Mandico «Notre Dame des Hormones» (2014).
